Get the best software Codec Pack logo Fantasy Codec Pack is packed with all the. Clone or download headers: make Next, install the CoreAVC codec via. CoreAVC is a Video software by CoreCodec. The software is a codec for doing playback with multimedia files and decoding Blu-ray and DVD movies. It is a specialized tool for supporting special media formats such as H.264 that requires a codec to decode it when H.264 is being streamed.
CoreAVC is a very fast decoder for h.264 HD-videos, however it is not for free. You can get a trial version which is valid 14 days to see if the transcoding of h.264 HD-videos benefits from performance tuning.
First of all you have to disable decoding for h.264 in ffdshow. If you have installed k-lite codec pack, go to Windows start menu 'programs > K-Lite Codec Pack > Configuration > ffdshow video decoder'. Select menu 'Codecs' on the left side and change format H.264/AVC from 'libavcodec' to 'disabled' and press OK.
Now you can install CoreAVC:
Haali Media Splitter is already included in codec packs and therefore doesn't have to be installed once again.
You should enable CUDA if possible. Go to the Windows start menu 'programs > CoreCodec > CoreAVC > Configure CoreAVC'. Check 'Prefer CUDA Acceleration' and press OK. Please consider that CUDA is only available for NVidia based graphics cards. You also have to install an up to date driver (at least version 181.64!).
There is no GPU-support planned in ffdshow. So CoreAVC is the best choice for transcoding performance at the moment.

Hi,
Microsoft did at one time provide most needed codecs... until Media Center was discontinued....
If you upgrade to Win 10 from Win 7 or Win 88.1 with Media Center you will still have most of them...

I actually use a 3rd party codec package for my machines in which Win 10 was a clean install, but it is not totally necessary... A 3rd party video player will include about everything...
I use K-Lite Codec Pack Basic at default settings on the clean install machines and have absolutely no issues with malware or virus's... Just be sure to watch closely during for a additional app of some type... They ASK if you want it, but if you are too quick to hit next you may miss it...
I would agree that it would be nice if they were provided by Microsoft, but they are not... I should say that ALL of them are not...
LOL, Media Center has been discontinued too?! Remind me again why I 'upgraded'?!
Anyway, I did a clean Win 10 install too. And was indeed hoping to keep it clean, for a change. K-Lite used to be horribly invested with malware, and I haven't touched it in years! I used Shark007 (iirc) on Windows 7, which had no viruses, but it messed up the Media Foundation stuff a bit (which no sane person can ever hope to repair manually).
Thanks for your reply, regardless. :)
